What are MobiPickers four picks for 3D Touch tweaks? Here’s their list:
Offers a 3D Touch-like experience on older devices. Uses the long-press-and-hold method to bring up quick actions for Camera, Settings, and Phone.
Opens the Quick Actions pane when you long-press or swipe up on an app icon. This tweak probably gets the closest to 3D Touch on older iOS iPhones and iPads.
Like Forcy, brings up the Quick Menu when you long-press on an app icon. Between this and Forcy, it’s a matter of personal preference.
Peek-and-Pop feature — e.g. short-press on an email to get a preview, long-press to go inside the email app.
With millions of iPhone users affected by “Error 53” earlier this month, Apple released an update, iOS 9.2.1, to fix this error. Even more recently, it released iOS 9.3 to developers, which many in the community believe means an iOS 9.2.1 jailbreak will no longer be released.
It was believed that an iOS 9.2 jailbreak was being developed by Pangu. Additionally, iOS jailbreaker Luca Todesco indicated that he had a working jailbreak for iOS 9.2.1 while that iOS version was in beta. However, because Todesco did not want to share this jailbreak, no one else has used it to independently verify it exists.
With talk of iOS 9.3 now dominating the field, it’s expected that jailbreakers will now focus on that release. There are rumors that TaiG is working on an iOS 9.3 jailbreak but no solid information on its availability. Pangu has also made no announcements on a 9.3 jailbreak, but it did recommend to its followers that they should download and install the latest iOS 9.2.1.
While the Pangu and TaiG teams are currently the most widely recognized, jailbreaking certainly isn’t limited to them. Taigjailbreak reported that Todesco — mentioned above — has jailbroken iOS 9.3 (beta 1) and even posted a video of it on YouTube. However, he indicates that he does not intend to release his tool to the general public.
Additionally, a Twitter user going by enMTW announced that s/he has cracked iOS 9.3 (beta 3), and that s/he will release the jailbreak tool at some point, possibly in March.
iOS 9.3 is rumored to provide substantial performance updates, new features, and bug fixes. Some speculate that this version will add sorting ability and password protection to Apple Notes. Additionally, Apple News is rumored to be upgraded with improved algorithms, in-line video playback, and a landscape mode.
